Common
trade names are: Tecaur PET - Sustadur - Ertalyte
Polyethylene
Terephthalate is characterized as having the best dimensional stability
coupled with excellent wear resistance, low coefficient of friction,
high strength, and resistance to moderately acidic solutions. These
properties make it especially suitable for the manufacture of precision
mechanical parts which are capable of sus-taining high loads and
enduring wear conditions.
PET
thermoplastic is available in amorphous or crystalline (CPET) forms.
When crystallized PET has excellent heat resistance, however, is
opaque in this state. When amorphous, PET has excellent clarity,
gloss and toughness. PET complies with FDA regulations for a broad
range of applicaitons.
