Polyimides
are a family of some of the most heat and fire-resistant polymers
known and posses excellent retention to mechanical and physical
properties at high temperatures.
Polyimides
are fomulated as both thermosets and thermoplastics. Unlike most
plastics, polyimides are available as laminates and shapes, molded
parts and stock shapes from some materials producers and as resins
from others.
Polyimides can also be extruded or injection molded.
